Mary C. (Mickey) Laplante, age 84, passed away at her home, with her loving family by her side. Mickey was born on September 1, 1933 in Washington, D.C. to Viola Taliceo and John McManus. She was employed for many years at Universal Plastics in Chicopee. She married the love of her life and best friend, her sweetheart Lawrence G. Laplante on June 30, 1956. Alongside her beloved husband she spent many joyous years camping, spending time at the ocean, Sunday tag sailing, dancing and enjoying time with their family and their sweet fur baby Lola, whom they adored. Mickey was a Nana to everyone with a heart of gold she poured her love to all along the way. She was a strong feisty Irish woman who was an extraordinary seamstress, who loved to stay busy cleaning, always helping others in need. She always kept everyone on their toes laughing, smiling and waiting for her witty comments. She was the ultimate domestic engineer always there for her family and anyone else in need. She is predeceased by her lifelong soulmate Lawrence (Papa) Laplante. She leaves behind her two children and their spouses Tammy and Wess Boucher, Barry and Elaine Laplante both of Chicopee. She will be deeply missed by her six grandchildren Joshua, Derek, Jeremy, Darren, Brooke, and Desiree. In addition she was blessed by eighteen great grandchildren Summer, Cameron, Eliana, Paige, Dillan, Emmarly, Cadence, Liam, Ronan, Hayden, Mason, Harper, Roslyn, Avery, Nora, Gabriella, Gracie and Gia. She is predeceased by one brother and leaves behind three siblings including her Irish twin Sissy whom she loved dearly. In addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held on Sat, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Mass of Christian Liturgy at 11 a.m. at St Patrick’s Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Fri, June 1, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
