Fernando Jorge Silva Gomes of Boston passed away Monday, May 28th 2018 at Sommerville Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Filomena Still.
He was born on August 31, 1962 in Praia, Cabo Verde. His parents are Joao Gomes and Maria Dos Reis Tavares. Fernando was an educated and hardworking man. He successfully completed his Master’s degree and was continuing his education. He loved reading, creating new ideas, and socializing with family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his four children and grandson; Kevin, Jason, Larissa, Ariel, and Kyng. Fernando also had 10 siblings Jacinto, Nelson, Antoinieta, Ineida, Joana, Nilda, Nadia, Yara, Maria de Fatima and a deceased brother, Calo.
Visitation will be on Thursday June 7th from 4-8 pm at the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel at 238 Court Street Brockton. Funeral Services will be on Friday June 8th at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 10 am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
