Frank Edward Card, age 77, of Chase City, VA, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born September 21, 1940 in Mecklenburg County, VA and was the son of the late Frank Card and Lula Florence White Card.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Chase City, VA. He retired from Burlington Industries after 35 consecutive years of employment without missing one day of work. He was also a Custodian for Mecklenburg County Public Schools and Projectionist at the Mecca Theater in Chase City.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nellie Travis Card after 52 years of marriage; son, Frank Card; one brother; and three sisters.
Frank is survived by his son, Michael Card and wife, Sharon Cason-Card of North Chesterfield, VA; five grandchildren, Sheree Cason Rodgers and husband, Jon of Seattle, WA, Stephen Cason and wife, Geneva of Abington, MD, Melvin McClark of Danville, VA, Sidney Card and wife, Adair of Chesterfield, VA, and Sara Card of North Chesterfield, VA; and was affectionally referred to as “Grape Gah” by eight adorable great-grandchildren, Reese Rodgers, Rainier Rodgers, Remy Rodgers, Christian Cason, Christina Cason, Eva Card, Mayah Card, and Micah Card. He is also survived by two brothers, Wylie Card and wife, Juanita and Alfred Card and wife, Irene; one sister, Lona Meade; numerous nieces and nephews; and devoted friend, Polly Bruce.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 28, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Chase City.
