Betty Lou Lawrence

Betty Lou Lawrence, 89, of Anderson died May 24, 2018 at Community Northview Care Center of Anderson.

She was born July 30, 1928 in Anderson, the daughter of Harry and Mae (Hartman) Lawrence. She lived her entire life in North Anderson.

She worked at Community Hospital for 27 years. She worked at the Anderson Health Dept. before going to work at Community Hospital in the Pharmacy. She then became Community Hospital Director of Purchasing before retiring in 1990.

For many years Betty was an integral part of the Alliance Church in Anderson, serving as the regular pianist for services. She was also a leader with the Sunday School program and was the Director of Vacation Bible School for many years. In later years Betty attended East Side Church of God.

Betty loved knitting and crocheting. She also made ceramics, stained glass, and loved crafts. She performed in a singing group for many years. She loved to read, cook, vacation, babysit and baseball. She knitted over 200 hats for the CNNH while there, and over 100 hats for the Community Hospital Coat Drive. She loved her family and being together for birthdays and holidays.

Betty is survived by her great-great-nephew Dustin Stout (Sydney) - Layla, Lily, Kayden and Max; her great-great-niece Soncerae Brooke Stout - NaKenzie, Jazmune, Jesse and Jason Palmer. Anderson.

Betty is survived by her long-time best friend Phyllis Jenness and her husband Bob - Jeff (Debbie) - Claire (Drew), Austin (Jenny) and Jared; Jim - Kenzie (Dave).

Betty is survived by her nieces, Gloria Connelly - David (Cynthia) and Tina Zook; Joy Riggins; her nephew Larry Lawrence (Cindy) - Greg, Courtney (Terry) Treon and Bethany (Ben) Reisinger.

Betty was preceded in death by great-nephew Terry Stout.

Betty is survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews including Lynn (Larry) Dunn - Emily, Erik (Laura), Josh (Haley) and Brett of Brookfield, IL.; Lee Anne Floran - Lisa and Julie of Valparaiso, IN.; Michael (Terri) Rousey, Kathy Rousey, Cheryl (Larry) Bjore, Kim (Robert) Hildebrand, Vicki (Dan) Radebaugh, Jeff Rousey, Bob (Carol) Rousey, Natalie (Terri Branden) Rousey, Lee Ann (Christopher) Silva, B.J. (Natalie) Rousey, Kathy Rousey, Gary (Chris) Lawrence, and Hyla Stonebraker.

Betty is survived by Mary Lou Rousey and Phyllis Rousey.

Betty is also survived by several great-great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be given through the funeral home to offset the funeral expenses.

Service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with burial following in East Maplewood Cemetery with Michael Rousey officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
