Obituary

Guy J. Sinagra, Sr., 76, of New Bedford passed away Thursday May 24, 2018 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Bernice A. (Denault) Sinagra.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel and Mabel (Coucci) Souza and James Sinagra, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Sinagra was a glazier who had worked for Guido's Plate Glass, Boston Plate Glass, and PPG Industries. He later established his own business, Southeastern Glass Service, which he operated for many years.
Guy loved spending time with his family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sports fan. He enjoyed attending the sporting events of his grandchildren. He had been a coach for the Lancers Pee Wee and Midgets football teams.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; four children, Gail Thomas and her husband Allen, Guy Sinagra, Jr., Sharon Sinagra-Sylvia and her husband David, and David Sinagra and his wife Christine, all of New Bedford; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Eric Souza.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Jarred Sinagra and his brother, William Souza.
His visitation will be held on Tuesday May 29, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with a prayer service beginning at 4 PM.
