Barbara L. Rose, 81, of Haverhill, MA, died Friday, May 25, 2018 in Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill. She was born in Cambridge, MA on May 26, 1936, a daughter of the late Gil and Francis (Baptiste) Silva. She had been a resident of Haverhill since 2016, formerly living in Derry, NH, Londonderry, NH, and Medford, MA. She had been employed as a clerk for Tufts University in Boston, MA. Barbara enjoyed vacationing with her family but especially loved visiting Cape Cod, MA. She also enjoyed reading novels in her spare time.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Rose and his wife Kelly of Derry, NH, and Paul M. Rose of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Jared, and Kaylee; and her sister, Janet (Silva) Bokuniewicz. She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel Rose in 2008, and her brothers, Robert Silva and Richard Silva.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, May 30th from 6 – 8 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 pm in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. The burial followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and/or Saint Jude Children's Hospital.
