NEWTON, NH - Mrs. Grace E. (Anastasi) Cotreau, age 87, the beloved mother of five children, formerly of Tewksbury, died Friday morning, May 25, at the High Pointe House in Haverhill, after a courageous battle with declining health. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Ernest “Ernie” Cotreau, who died in September 2009.
Grace was born in Cambridge, in September 1930, one of nine daughters, of the late Anthony and Margaret (Piccotti) Anastasi, and was raised in Cambridge. After her marriage to Ernie, they moved to Brown Street in Tewksbury where they raised their family. Grace and Ernie moved to Plaistow, NH in 1980 and then Newton, NH, in 2005. Grace was lovingly described as having devoted her life to her family.
She leaves her five children, Robert “Bob” and his wife Lois (Ober) Cotreau of Epping, NH, Denise Cotreau of Newton, NH, Joseph E. Cotreau Jr. of Salem, NH, Anthony M. “Tony” and his wife Debra Bumbaca-Cotreau of Townsend, MA, and Debra A. Cotreau of Kingston, NH; seven grandchildren, Joseph E. Cotreau III, Stephen M. Cotreau, Timothy J. Cotreau, Chelsey Cotreau, Anthony D. “Tony” Cotreau, Michael A. Cotreau, and Komo N. Ananda; five great grandchildren, Ava, Zoey, Timothy “T.J.,” Benjamin, and Vienna Rae; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all of her eight sisters.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday, May 31, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph.
