Agnes Martiel Henderson, 91, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla, Georgia.
Services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County, with the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Henderson was born September 18, 1926, in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late James David & Euna Mixon Griffin. She moved to Irwin County in 1946 and was a homemaker. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed growing flowers, working in her yards, and talking about Jesus. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Cindi Henderson Boyd of Pine Mountain. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive, along with her many friends within the community and from Heritage Care in Ocilla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Benjamin “J. B.” Henderson; three sons: Jimmy “Pee Wee” Henderson and two infants and a brother Winston Griffin.
