FALL RIVER… Lauretta R. (Carrier) Wrightington, 94, of Fall River passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 following a long illness.
She was the widow of William E. Wrightington, Jr.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Eva (Gosselin) Carrier and was a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Wrightington worked for 40 years in the local Garment Industry before retiring in 1985 and was a lifelong communicant of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Fall River. She was a dedicated wife and mother, worked with the Junior Twilight League of Fall River and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her sons: William E. Wrightington, III and his wife Jeanne of Fall River and Michael G. Wrightington of Fall River; her daughter: Carol Chouinard and her husband Gilbert “Gil” of Fall River; 5 grandchildren: Billy, Crystal, Johnathan, Michelle and Mickey; her brothers: Paul Carrier and his wife Pat of Fall River and Leo “Pete” Carrier; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Armand Carrier, Florence Powszak, Doris Kazan, Rita Ferreira and Yvonne Vallee.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 9 AM from the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River, MA 02723. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 - 7 PM.
