Obituary


Andrew "Andy" A. Puma, age 93 of Woburn and Formerly of Arlington passed peacefully on May 24, 2018. Born on January 12, 1925 in Boston, he was the son of the late Paolo and Mattia Puma. Devoted husband of Rose (Intravaia) Puma for 70 years. Loving father of Paul A. Puma and his wife Sheryl of Delray, FL and Andrea Puma Anglin and her husband John of Winchester. Beloved grandfather of Jessica Puma Altro, Laura Anglin Kotzeff, and Jenna Puma Anglin. Proud great grandfather of Holden Altro, Fallyn Altro, Lukas Anglin Kotzeff, and Jakob Anglin Kotzeff. Brother of Paul of Leominster and Angelina Lepore of Medford, and the late Salvatore, Angelina, Josephina, Louise and John. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In 1946, upon his return from the Pacific Theatre of World War II as an honorably discharged U.S. Marine Corp Sargeant, Andy went to work for Santacross Distinctive Shoe Service, where he worked his entire adult life and eventually became owner before his retirement> He was called to active duty for the Korean War, bur was never deployed.
Andy's family was his universe, and his constant love and concern for them is what drove him. On June 29th, Andy and Rose would have celebrated their seventy first wedding anniversary. An avid Boston sports fan he had many opinions on how the Patriots and Red Sox should be managed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass that will be celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, Tuesday, May 29th, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
