Dorothy (Colby) O’Connell Ahearn proud lifelong resident of South Boston, passed away at home on Thursday, May 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late John "Okie" O'Connell & Robert Ahearn. She was the daughter of the late Rose and James Colby. The cherished mother of the late Michael O’Connell and his wife Donna of South Boston, Beverly Chappron and her husband David of Braintree, the late Stephen O’Connell and his wife Theresa of South Boston, and her daughter, best friend and partner in life Kathy O’Connell of South Boston. Devoted sister of the late Barbara Cannon, James Colby, Alice Tallent, Thomas Colby, Grace Horrigan, Cynthia Jones, and the late John Fahey. Loving Grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her grand-dog Banjo. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10 A.M in the Gate of Heaven Parish located at 615 E Fourth Street, South Boston, MA 02127.
