FALL RIVER… Joaquim D. “Jack” Pereira, 67, of Fall River passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Capelas, Ponta Delgada, Azores, he was as a son of the late Jose Pereira De Jesus and Maria Da Conceicao Sousa. He had been living in Fall River since moving to the United States in 1975.
Mr. Pereira was a Veteran of the Portuguese Army. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Fall River and was a member and bartender at the Republican Club and a member of Columbia Tavern. Jack was a huge fan of Benfica and also enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica.
Survivors include his daughter: Sandra Pereira of New Bedford; his grandsons: Cesar R. DaCosta, Jr. and Kevin Aguiar, Jr.; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 7 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723. Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 2nd from 4 – 7 PM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mr. Pereira’s family.
