Darlene J. "Skeet" Gonsalves, 56, of New Bedford passed away Friday May 18, 2018 after a long illness.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was formerly employed as a bus driver for the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority until her retirement.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Gonsalves and his wife Nichola of Stoughton, and Kevin Gonsalves and his wife Kim of Dartmouth; her father, Algie F. Wheatley of New Bedford; her siblings, Shelley Mendes, Doreen Mendes, Jeffrey Mendes, Algie "Buddy" Wheatley, Jr., and Joseph Wheatley, all of New Bedford, and Curtis Wheatley of Rhode Island; two grandchildren, Eden and Xander; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother, Diana R. (Mendes) Wheatley, and her sister, Maria A. "Tynee" Mendes.
Her visitation will be held on Saturday May 26, 2018 from 12-4 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
