FALL RIVER – Seraphina J. (Amaral) Moniz, age 84 of Fall River, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Catholic Memorial Home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Santo António alem Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Jose & Maria (Pereira) Amaral.
Prior to retiring, Seraphina worked as a Seamstress in the Garment Mfg. Industry. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, an avid Red Sox & Elvis Presley fan, loved dancing, sewing, & taking care of her children & grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Theresa Wold of FL, Donald Ferreira of Swansea, Bernadette Ferreira Gamache of Westport, Derick Ferreira of Rumford, RI, Dean Ferreira of Fall River, Lisa Ribeiro of FL; siblings: Tony Amaral & Odelia Kullander both of Fall River; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces & nephews. She was also the mother of the late David, Daniel, & Douglas Ferreira & the sister of the late Joseph & William Amaral, & Maria Hadley.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, May 25th at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 AM. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
