William "Timothy" Suggs, 54, of Athens passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Earl Steffens officiating. Mr. Suggs will be laid to rest at Sumner Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Brandon Sapp, Luke Hogan, Clint Patterson, Travis Lane, Josh Williams and Jacob Drawdy will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 11, 1963 in Sylvester, Mr. Suggs was the son of the late William Bruce Suggs and Christine White Suggs. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Debbie Patterson. He was a retired truck driver, Hazmat certified and had a perfect safety record over his entire career. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was a mountain of a man that loved his family; loved the outdoors and gardening; loved animals and always made sure God’s creatures were fed. He also loved Nascar and the Georgia Bulldogs. He lived in Ty Ty and Tifton most of his life, except for the last few years, which he lived in Athens with his children.
Mr. Suggs is survived by one son, Timothy Austin Suggs and his fiancé, Virginia Van Ingen of Athens; one daughter, Tiffany Hope Suggs of Athens; two brothers, Bruce Suggs of Ty Ty and Luke Suggs of Lake Placid, Florida; and four sisters, Vonda Sapp and Valerie Walker, both of Tifton and Sheila Lane and Jackie Suggs, both of Ty Ty.
