Obituary


William A. Severse III, 70, of Monponsett, MA died unexpectedly at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury on May 17, 2018, after a brief illness.

He was a 1965 graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School. He went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard and had a long career as a plumber-pipefitter with Union 276. In his retirement he enjoyed making his famous Gorilla’s Own Bloody Mary Mix, playing words with friends, attending trivia nights, traveling to Las Vegas as well as spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his children Nicole (Severse) Heim, her fiancé Jim Thyne and her children Isaac, Ian, and Abigail of Uxbridge, MA, Joshua Severse, his wife Laura and children Teddy and Gennie of West Roxbury, MA and his daughter Tracy Hall and her daughter TylerAnne of Ocala, Fl. He is also survived by his mother in law Rosemary Sherman of Pembroke, MA, his sister-in-law Evie Wamboldt and her husband Gary of Randolph, MA, his sister-in-law Patricia Sherman of Pembroke, MA, his brother-in-law John H. Sherman and his wife Virginia of Melvin Village, NH and his sister Carol Lippert of Carver, MA and her daughter Lisa.

He is predeceased by his wife Cynthia (Sherman) Severse, his mother Norma Severse, his father William A. Severse Jr and his father-in-law John H. Sherman Jr.

His funeral services will be held on Monday May 21st at 5:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 3:00-5:00PM.
