Mary T. (Balestracci) Queen, 90, of Mashpee died May 17, 2018 at Brookdale Dartmouth Village after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Louis D. Queen.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Emilio and Ida (Baldini) Balestracci, she lived on Cape Cod for many years and wintered in Florida.
Mrs. Queen was formerly employed as a teachers aide at Carney Academy School and Pulaski School until her retirement. She was also involved in the family business, West End Laundry.
She enjoyed golf and travel.
Mary's family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Village, New England Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care for the excellent care that Mary received.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Patricia Kelly of Dartmouth and Ann Marie Morgado and her husband Feon of Seabrook, NH; 6 grandchildren, Timothy, James, Kathryn, Jeffrey, Paul and Robert; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and a nephew.
She was the sister of the late Amelia Armanetti, Henry Balestracci, Aldo "Jake" Balestracci and Dante Balestracci.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, May 21st at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 AM. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to New England Hospice, 190 Old Derby St. #304, Hingham, MA. 02043.
