Robert J.(Bob) Downing, 57, ended his life on May 15th, following a long illness.
Born September 30, 1961, in Holbrook, MA, Bob was the loving son of Barbara Downing and the late John Downing.
He graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Economics and Government. After college, he worked and lived in Washington, DC and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Upon returning to the US, Bob settled in Phoenix, AZ, where he worked for Maricopa County’s Environmental Services.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Neil Downing and his wife Millie of Medfield, MA, and his sister Joan Toye, and her husband Wayne, of Franklin, MA. Bob was a beloved uncle to Daniel Toye, Steven Toye, Michael Downing, and Christopher Downing, and the late David Toye.
Funeral Arrangements will be private and under the care of the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com). A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
