FALL RIVER – Roger Gaboriau, age 72, passed away on May 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (DeCosta) Gaboriau of 52 years. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Augustine Edgar Gaboriau, step-father Frank Placido and Mary (Souza) Placido. Roger worked as a carpenter at Techbuilt Homes for over 25 years, but prior to retirement he worked as facility maintenance at Sherle Wagner Internation. He was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching and spending time on the computer. Roger also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and dog Jake.
Along with his wife he is survived by his children Christine Bonanca (husband Luis) of Fall River, Roger Gaboriau Jr. (wife Kerin) of Tiverton and Colleen Carvalho (husband Christopher) of Somerset; siblings Patricia Sherman, Michelle Tanner, Francis Stocklinski and Frank Placido Jr.; grandchildren Corrine Gaboriau, Josalyn Cabral, Corissa Gaboriau, Kara Gaboriau, Sarah Carvalho and Hannah Carvalho; great-grandchildren Baron Gaboriau and Catherine Fitzpatrick. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Holy Cross Chapel at 9 A.M.
