Obituary

Worcester: Marjorie (Wennerlof) Clark, 90, passed away unexpectedly on a beautifully sunny Monday morning, May 14, 2018 in Worcester. She leaves a daughter, Nancy Bergdahl Peel and her husband Roger of Worcester and Barbados; two sons, David N. Clark and his wife Elizabeth of Auburn, and Jeffrey A. Clark of Kennebunk, Maine; four grandchildren, Andrew Clark and his wife Danielle, Matthew Clark and his wife Jillian, Eugenya and Nadya Clark; several nieces and nephews; and a number of cherished friends. Her husband of 20 years, Norman R. Clark, died in 1977. Her first husband, Norman B. Bergdahl, died in 1954.

Marjorie was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Maurice and Olive (Haapala Anttila) Wennerlof. She attended Belmont Prep and graduated from Commerce High School in 1946. As a young woman she worked in the business office of Norton Company before raising her family, and later worked for 20 years for the Melville Corporation.

She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of its Anna Circle and the Serving Commission. She was also a member of the Worcester Woman's Club, the Scandinavian Women's Club, Preservation Worcester, the Worcester Historical Society, Worcester Art Museum and Mechanics Hall.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster St., Worcester. A private burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery. According to her wishes, there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie's memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
