John A. Gibbs age 79 of Melbourne Florida formerly of Canton passed away October 27, 2017. Born in Boston he attended Boston and Canton Public Schools, he graduated from Canton High School. John lived in Canton for over 40 years before retiring to Melbourne, FL. Mr. Gibbs worked as an Accountant in Boston for many years. He was an Eagle Scout and an Air Force Reserve Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Christine Gibbs. Loving father of Robert and his wife Marianne of Maryland, Jenny Richardson of Maine and the late John Jr. Brother of Ada Goodrich of Stoughton, George Gibbs and his wife Janice of Onset. Also survived by his close cousins Lloyd and Wally Gibbs, 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Congregational Church of Canton 1541 Washington St. Canton on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment South Easton Cemetery.
