Obituary

Ralph E. Gasbarro 86, of Franklin, died peacefully, Sunday May 13, 2018 with his loving family at his side, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Cacciarelli) Gasbarro, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

Born September 6, 1931 in Franklin, a son of the late Alessandro and Anna F. (DeLellis) Gasbarro, he was a lifelong Franklin resident.

Ralph was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a graduate of Franklin High School. He continued his education at Seton Hall University, where he received his associate’s degree. For many years Ralph worked for Honeywell as a logistics manager.

A proud American he joined the United States Navy during the Korean War, he attained the rank of EN2 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged in December 1954.

Ralph was a former Franklin Town Councilor having served 2 terms as its chairman; he was an avid sports fan and coached many Franklin Youth teams.

He was devoted to his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ralph S. Gasbarro of Franklin, Richard A. Gasbarro and his wife Maria of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, Randy J. Gasbarro and his wife Karen of Bridgewater, Robyn A. Gasbarro of Franklin and Russell A. Gasbarro and his wife Asa of Franklin.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Louis, Francis, Anna Marie Gasbarro, Madeline Caron and Dora Carlander.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday May 18th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10AM.

Interment with military honors will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7PM.
