Darlia Ann Gardner, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Regency Hospital in Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Monday, May 14, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Gardner was born July 28, 1946, in Pennsylvania, to the late Jack & Ardell Daughtery Vanderhoof. She moved to the community over 35 years ago from Saegertown, Pennsylvania. Ms. Gardner was a former employee of Deep South. She enjoyed scrapbooking and playing games like Yahtzee and Rummy. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Diana Smith & Andy, Teresa Jackson & Randall, Donald Alexander & Tammy, all of Fitzgerald and Gary Keeley of Wellington, Colorado; grandchildren: Amber & Steve Botton, Kayla & Chip Smith, Dawn Moore, Brittany Stanford, Kyle & Chynna Adams, Haley Jackson & Bubba Harrell, Randa Jackson, Kensley Keeley, Davin Keeley and Michelle Jackson; 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers and sisters: Karen Carter & Rick of Ohio, Rose Gehr & Don of Saegertown, Pennsylvania, Jack Vanderhoof of West Virginia, Carol Ann Bell & George of Centerville, Pennsylvania, Debbie Bergholtz & Ted Rumzie of Fitzgerald, Elaine Vanderhoof of Saegertown, Pennsylvania and Bill Vanderhoof & Chris of Davenport, Florida. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends also survive. In addition, to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Richard Vanderhoof, David Vanderhoof and Herman “Rusty” Vanderhoof.
