Deborah I. Miggins, 87, of Fort Washington, Maryland, formerly of New Bedford, died Wednesday November 9, 2005 at Fort Washington Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late George and Pearl (Wright) Miggins, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life, before moving to Maryland eight years ago.
She had been a member of the former Douglass Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in New Bedford.
Ms. Miggins was formerly employed by St. Luke's Hospital for many years. She later worked at the Boys Club of New Bedford and the Salvation Army.
She was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Wayne P. Miggins, and his wife Geraldine, of Fort Washington, and Eugene G. Miggins of Suitland, MD; a sister, Freda Gomes of New Bedford; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her Family will receive visitors at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday November 16, 2005 from 6-7:30 PM, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Her Commital Service will be held on Thursday November 17, 2005 at 10 AM at Acushnet Cemetery.
