WEBSTER – Christine M. Groleau, 63, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family.
She leaves her husband of 20 years, Ronald L. Groleau; four sons, Todd Phipps and his wife Valdiza “Val” Phipps of Holden, Jason Temple of Westfield, Patrick Williamson of Fitchburgh, and James Groleau and his wife Kristy of N. Providence, RI; a daughter, Julia Temple of Webster; three grandsons, Eric Phipps, and Joseph and Thomas McGonagle; a brother, Alan King of Vancouver, CA; a sister, Jessica O’Leary of Exeter, NH; nieces and nephews. She also leaves her cats, Daisy and Tootsie. She was preceded in death by her brother Paul King in 2004.
Christine was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Kathleen (Truesdale) McNabb and Gerald McNabb, currently residing in Northport, FL. She lived in Hopkinton before moving to Webster 20 years ago. She graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1972.
Mrs. Groleau was a special education teacher at Park Avenue Elementary School for 10 years before retiring because of illness.
She was a member of The Journey Community Church in Worcester. She enjoyed walking 5 to 10 miles almost every day. She also liked spending time in her garden.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street,Webster. Donations in her name may be made to VNA of Southern Worcester County, 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, MA 01501.
