Claire Y. (Ballard) Silvia, 88, of Westport passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was wife of the late George Silvia.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Hector and Victoria (Chouinard) Ballard, she had lived in Westport for the past 22 years. Prior to retirement in 1992, she had worked at Fall River Knitting Mills. She was a Communicant of the former Notre Dame Church, Fall River. Mrs. Silvia loved crocheting items and donating them to the Charlton Memorial Cancer Society. She enjoyed going out to eat and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Patricia A. Dore and her husband Maurice of Westport and Jacqueline L. Pereira and her husband Carl of Westport; a brother: Ronald Ballard of Fall River; 3 grandchildren: Nathan Dore, Danielle Dore and Melissa Pereira; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Vivian DaRoza, Dora Mayers, Jeannine Cournoyer, Roger Ballard and Edmund Ballard.
At the family's request services will be private.
