Lorraine M. Larkin, 82

Lorraine M. (Curley) Larkin, age 82, of Plainville, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late George F. “Gigi” Larkin, Sr.

Born in Boston, MA on March 22, 1936, she was a loving daughter of the late John T. and Gertrude (Hennessey) Curley.

Lorraine grew up and was educated in Boston. She had made her home in Plainville for the past fifteen years and was a former longtime resident of Mansfield.
Her family, whom she loved and treasured dearly, was the greatest joy of her life. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.

She is survived by her devoted and adoring children Linda M. Gouvalaris and her husband Vincent of Mansfield, Janet A. McGowan of North Attleboro, George F. Larkin, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Vancouver, Washington, John J. Larkin, Sr. and his wife Kathleen of North Attleboro, Lori M. Labrie and her husband David of Mansfield and the late Patti A. Larkin. She was the cherished grandmother of John Gouvalaris, Thomas McGowan, Jeffrey McGowan, Michael McGowan, Emily McGowan, Megan Larkin, Kadee Larkin, Cody Larkin, John Larkin, Jr., Joe Larkin, Jessica Labrie and Julia Labrie. She was the dear sister of John Curley and his wife Helen of Medford. She is also survived by her in-laws, as well and many nieces and nephews.


Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 15th at 10:00 A.M. in St Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.


Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 14th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
