Mrs. Barbara A. (Frost) Guay, of Taunton, entered into rest Monday, May 7 in Morton Hospital following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Maurice Guay. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 24. She was born 85 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Dyer) Frost. Barbara was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, Class of 1951, and was a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Texas Instruments, Attleboro for 23 years. She was previously employed as an operator for the former New England Telephone for a number of years. She was a member of the Oakland Senior Citizens Club. Barbara enjoyed Sunday family dinners, and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
In addition to her husband, she leaves: 3 sons: Michael Guay and his wife, Linda of Cumberland, R.I., Barry Guay and his wife, Kathy of Taunton, and Stephen Guay and his wife, Betsy of Attleboro; 1 daughter: Cheryl Mulhern and her husband, Russell of Taunton; 1 brother: Larry Frost and his wife, Joan of Florida; 1 sister: Ruth White of Michigan; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was also the sister of the late Jean Rose and Mary Corriveau, both of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, May 14 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
