Obituary


Bridgewater- George A. Ahl, 76, of Bridgewater, formerly of Hyde Park and Jamaica Plain, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Haasis) Ahl.

Born Oct. 1, 1929, in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (McKenna) Ahl.

Mr. Ahl grew up and attended schools in Jamaica Plain and lived in Hyde Park for 25 years before residing in Bridgewater for the past 7 years.

He was a truck driver for the Local Teamsters 25 for 17 years.

Mr. Ahl was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was an avid sports fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James of Randolph, June of Hyde Park, Michael of Millis, Thomas of Georgia, Kevin of Hanson and Kenneth of Chelmsford; a brother, Joseph Ahl of Roslindale; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late John, Edward, Charles and Alfred Ahl.

His funeral will be from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Wednesday at 9:45 am., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8 pm. Burial will be in Mass. National Cemetery Wednesday at 12:45 pm.
