Obituary

An Renhult Kane, 58, of Truro died Saturday, May 5th at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a short illness. She was the wife of Carter Kane.

Born in Concord Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Miriam Renhult. She graduated from Concord Carlisle High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of New Hampshire. She worked at a variety of jobs after college, but always looked forward to summering with her family in Truro. It was in Truro that she met her future husband. After a 6-year courtship, they married 21 years ago this month.

It was her background in history that led her to serve on the Truro Historical Committee for a period of time. An’s interest in nature lead to her enjoyment of both, bird and whale watching. Because of her concern for woman’s issues, she recently traveled to Washington with her daughter to participate in the Women’s March. She rounded out her time reading, never missing Jeopardy, working with stained glass and relaxing on the beach with friends.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Sabrina Kane and son, Thomas Kane, both of Truro. She is also survived by her sister, Susie Davies and husband Chris, nephews Matt and Will, all of Concord as well as many friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Mark Renhult.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with An's family on Friday, May 11th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 12th at Saint Peter the Apostle Church, Prince Street, Provincetown. Burial will follow in Truro.

If desired, memorial donations in An’s name may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036.
