Francis E. Kenny, 65, of Milford passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his home.
Born in Boston on March 23, 1953, he was a son of the late James J. and Joyce (Romans) Kenny.
Fran was a resident of Milford for over 20 years. He grew up in Medway and graduated from Medway High School in 1971. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from UMass Amherst and a Master’s Degree in Microbiology from the University of Rhode Island.
Before his retirement, he worked as a Microbiologist in the private healthcare industry at various area companies for many years.
Fran loved spending time on the lower Cape and going to the beach. He was also an avid N.E. Patriots fan.
He is survived by his siblings, David Kenny and his wife Denise of Millbury, Patricia Gross and her husband Fred of Milford, Robert Kenny and his wife Mary of Milford and Paul Kenny of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late John and Donald Kenny.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Friday, May 11 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in Fran’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
