Shayne Redman passed away at Children’s Hospital on Thursday at the age of 10. The cherished son of Damian and Robin (Toomey) Redman, he was born in Boston and was a resident of Jamaica Plain. Shayne was a student at St. Mary’s school in Brookline. He was a great kid who loved his family and especially cherished and enjoyed helping to care for his big brother and would do anything for him. He loved playing baseball, basketball and spending time with his friends playing video games. One of his favorite things was eating out with his family and his favorite restaurant was Tiki Island in Medford. His short life was full of love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Shayne leaves his beloved brother Chace Redman. Shayne was the loving grandson of Christine Parris and her companion Hamilton Matthews and the late Robert and Janet Toomey. He is also survived by many devoted and loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, May 9th, at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 179 Summer Street, Somerville, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4 through 8 PM.
