Homa "Butch" Meredith, 92, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018.
She was born on June 11, 1925 in Straw, Kentucky, to the late Mae (Brooks) Meredith and Roosevelt Meredith. She was a a seamstress and a graduate corsetiere. Homa was a class lady.
She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Geneva Meredith; brother, Oda Meredith; brothers-in-law Tommy Potts, Ed Ostendorf and Doug Boston; stepbrother-in-law, Leo Schweizer; stepsisters, Bess Sanders (Ova) and Elaine Denton (Duard); grandmother, Alma (Carroll) Brooks; and grandfather, George W. Brooks.
Homa is survived by her sisters, Stella Potts, Midge Ostendorf, Mary Boston; and sister-in-law, Jean Meredith; and stepsister, Ann Hall (Leo); and many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed going to Churchill Downs, quilting and sewing, and walking was her mode of transportation. Our gratitude to Masonic Home, Judy House, Hosparus and Home Instead.
The funeral service will be 10:30am Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road. Visitation will be held 9am until time of service. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Burial will follow at the Jack Meredith Cemetery, Smith Jack Cemetery Road, Mammouth Cave, Kentucky, 42259.
