Obituary

Anthony D. Curro passed away peacefully at the Aberjona Nursing Home in Winchester on Tuesday, May 1st. He was 86. Born and raised in Medford he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Amendolia) Curro. Anthony served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge Anthony, a talented cartoon artist, had the opportunity to join the Walt Disney Company but opted to take up classical training to become a chef. Throughout his career, Anthony worked in and led the kitchens of some of Boston's most prominent fine dining restaurants. He worked at the famed Lock Ober and the Ritz Carlton among others. He was invited to be the opening chef of the Playboy Club in Boston and served there for several years. Anthony was a devoted family man and enjoyed time with his friends and family.

He was the loving husband of the late Linda (Doetsch) Curro. He was a devoted father to Joseph Curro and his wife Kristen, Richard Curro and wife Elaine, and the late Audrey Doetsch. He was a devoted grandfather to Nicholas, Zach, Jason, Nichole, Richard, Taylor, Kendall and the late Anthony, Joshua and Tiffany. He was also a loving great-grandfather of Miles, Salvatore, Eleanor, Noelle, Nicholas, Michael, Jordan and Lily. He also leaves his former wife Audrey (Alessio). Anthony was predeceased by his siblings Josephine Hauser, John and Frank Curro.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home on Sunday May 6th from 4 thru 8 PM. Funeral Service and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
