Richard O. Moore, Jr., 72, of Worcester died Friday, April 27th in Parsons Hill Nursing Home. He leaves a son, Richard O. Moore, III and his wife, Jennifer of Fairfield, CT; a daughter, Nancy Koutsoukounis and her husband, Christos of Worcester; three brothers, Michael Moore and his wife, MaryEllen of Worcester, Daniel Moore of Worcester and Thomas Moore and his wife, Kathleen of Austin, TX; three sisters, Paula Dorn, Jayne Arsenault and Martha Senosk and her husband, Troy all of Worcester; four grandchildren, Abbigail, Joshua, Nicholas and Guy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Moore.
He was born in Worcester the son of Richard O. Moore, Sr. and Helen M. (Shannon) Moore. Mr. Moore was a teacher for 12 years at several area schools including, St. John’s High School, Charlton and Fitchburg State College. Richard was a jack of all trades working as a union carpenter, building homes with habitat for humanity, working for Raytheon and a construction supervisor. Mr. Moore was a member of the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council, the Carpenter’s Union and the Teacher’s Union. He enjoyed going to the casino and collecting coins and stamps. He was a kind person and a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews.
His funeral is Wednesday, May 2nd with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 1st from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
