Obituary

Nevin Lee Foreman, Jr. was born in Harrisburg, PA. to Nevin Lee Foreman, Sr and Sara Thelma Klaiss Febuary 17, 1926. He died January 5, 2018 in Fort Myers, FL.
Lee was a World War II Veteran in the 90th Infantry who's experiences included guarding a salt mine in Germany where treasure was kept, and assisting in liberating Flossenberg concentration camp where the renown theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed. Lee remained in Germany working for the US Government for several years after the war to assist in the rebuilding effort. In 1950 he married Melanie Foreman (d).
Lee graduated from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, PA in economics, and business in 1954 and began his career at RCA in Indianapolis. In 1969 he started Integrated Electronic Systems, Inc. an electronics engineering firm covering a seven state area designing and installing Ethernet, Baseband, Broadband, cable, and Fiberoptics often working with Digital Equipment Corp. He and his family moved to Anderson, IN in 1970.
Lee and his wife Betsy were married in 1997. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Anderson, and served as a Deacon and Trustee. He was a member of Sertoma Club of East Indianapolis.
Lee and his wife spent winters on Sanibel, FL. He was a Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce volunteer where he enjoyed talking to winter visitors. He was fluent in German and assisted in translating. He also volunteered at BIG Arts with the Forum.
He loved his family and friends, hard work, a good Jack Daniel's, dancing, discussing current events, gardening and talking to each person who crossed his path. His gentle, caring nature, his easy smile and hardy laugh will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Betsy Carrel Foreman; children: Melanie Johnston (Leroy), Maureen Foreman (d.), Nevin Lee Foreman III (Brenda), J. Drew Carrel, and Christopher "Kit" E. Carrel MD (Janny); nieces: Merrill Meadows, Jackie Meadows Flynt (Eddie) and grandniece Sarah Lee Flynt; grandchildren: Mindy Stohler Mahoney (Steven), Bryan Stohler, and Christopher James Carrel, William Carrel, Samuel Carrel, Angela Dixon, Christopher Everman, Joseph Scott (Kassy); and great-grand children: Justin and Tyler Mahoney. Megan, Taylor, and Brendan Stohler, Haley and Greg Dixon, Alex and Chris Everman, Grayson and Jaxon Scott.
A Memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, Anderson will be May 5, at 1 pm.
