TEWKSBURY - Sandra J. (Hawkins) Escott, age 75, died peacefully at the Kaplin Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a courageous battle with heart disease. She was the beloved wife of Ronald J. Escott, with whom she had celebrated a forty-eighth wedding anniversary this past August.
Sandy was born in Malden, a daughter of the late Edward and Rita (Emerson) Hawkins, and raised in Malden. She and Ron had lived in Somerville and Everett before moving to Tewksbury in 1977.
She worked as a secretary, but made many friends through her part-time job as a waitress at the former Anchor Restaurant in Tewksbury. Sandy was a frequent Tuesday night Bingo patron at the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Eric R. Escott of Dracut; a daughter, Disiree M. Escott of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Jacob and Brianna; a brother, Edward Hawkins of Las Vegas; a sister-in-law, Peggy Hawkins of Laconia, NH; dearest friend Karen Albino of Wakefield; and several nieces and nephews; and predeceased by “Auntie Mame” Madeline Duqueet.

Her funeral will begin Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass Tuesday, May 1, at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury.
