Neptun R. Bumci, 80, of Worcester died Wednesday, April 25th at home surrounded by his family. Neptun was born in Tirana, Albania, the son of late Ikbal and Rrapush Bumci. Neptun had a very rich professional career. He was very passionate about scientific research and inventions. After graduating from University of Tirana as a mechanical engineer, he worked with devotion in many cities of Albania and the late career in Tirana was innovations in advanced industry. Neptun was loved by all, for his humor, kindness, and sweet soul.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Bujare (Xhafa) Bumci; a son, Ariel Bumci; a daughter, Blerina Adhamidhi and her husband, Ardian; two granddaughters, Cindy and Frances all of Worcester; a brother, Shkelqim Bumci of Albania; three sisters, Burbuqe Bumci, Nashifer Bumci both of Albania and Liljana Bumci of Detroit, MI and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ibrahim Bumci. He was a dedicated grandfather, leaving unforgettable memories.
Calling hours are Saturday, April 28th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
