Melissa Brown Hanson, 38, of Enigma passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joey Whitley officiating. Mrs. Hanson will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 27, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Kenneth Griner, Wayne Griner, Paul Brown, Kenneth Brown, Hailey Hanson, Jose Molina and Jorge Patino will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lydia Hanson and William Griner.
Born November 2, 1979 in Tift County, Mrs. Hanson was the daughter of Steve Michael Brown and Peggy Griner Brown of Alapaha. She worked as a bank proof operator and attended Alapaha Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Kenny Mack Brown and her maternal grandfather, Elmon Griner.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hanson is survived by her husband, Richard Hanson of Enigma; one son, James Andrew Hanson of Sycamore; two daughters, Hailey Hanson and Lydia Hanson, both of Enigma; her paternal grandmother, Martha Lorene Fallin of Alapaha; her maternal grandmother, Vernell Griner of Alapaha; and several aunts and uncles.
