Obituary

Robert Brouillard, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Apr 22, 2018. He was born in Chicopee on Jan 23, 1926 to the late Joseph D. and Bertha (Fontaine) Brouillard. He was a communicant of the former Assumption Parish before joining St. Rose de Lima Parish. Robert was a WWII Navy Veteran aboard the USS Alaska in the Pacific Theater, participating in Iwo Jima, Okinawa and the Philippine Liberation. After 40 years, Robert retired in 1988 as Superintendent of Savage Arms in Westfield. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend of 70 years, Therese (Chapdelaine) Brouillard, who passed away on Apr 19, 2018. They were married on Apr 17, 1948 at Assumption Church. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Rev. Donald Brouillard and Gerard Brouillard. Robert leaves 2 sons, Paul (Linda) and Denis (Kathy), all of Enfield; 2 daughters, Suzanne Nally (Paul Black) of Chicopee and Diane Webster (Russell) of Feeding Hills; a sister Doris LaBonte and a sister-in-law Claire Chapdelaine, both of Chicopee; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Apr 30, 2018 at 11am at St. Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Burial will follow in the St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Apr 29, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
