In San Antonio,Texas, April 22, 2018, Richard L. Lake, Age 89, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. Richard was the husband of the late Jean (Babcock) Lake. Born in Carthage, Missouri, he was the son of the late Harriot and Henry L. Lake and grandson of the late John and Lillie Kingsbury. Richard was a resident of Rehoboth, MA until his health declined and moved to San Antonio. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Air Force, retiring after twenty years of service. His love of flying eventually led him to a second career as a flight instructor at King Aviation/Taunton Municipal Airport and then an F.A.A. Flight Examiner. Richard is survived by a son John Lake and his wife Rosie of San Antonio, TX and daughter Bonnie Smith and her husband Jim of San Antonio, TX. He also leaves his four grandchildren. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, April 28th from 9:30-11am. A funeral home service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery in Rehoboth.
