Angelo Tomasone died Friday at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 95.
Angelo was a dedicated family man and neighbor. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Felice and the late Anna Tomasone. At the age of four, Angelo joined his family as they returned to Avellino, Italy. He returned to the North End when he was 18. He worked all his life as a tailor and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union and the Torresi Club of the North End.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Todesco). He was the devoted father of Anthony and his wife Barbara of Winchester, Somerville Clerk Magistrate Robert “Ted” and his wife Lenore of Lynnfield. He was a loving “Papa” to Andrea and Lauren. He was the brother of the late Anthony Tomasone and Anna Abandonato.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St.,Medford, Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in Angelo’s name to the North End Health Center, 332 Hanover St., Boston, MA 02113.
