BUXTON- “Peggy” Violet E. Waterman, age 95, passed away on April 23, 2018 after a period of declining health.
She was born in Godmanchester, United Kingdom, on April 22, 1923, the third child of the late Arthur and Winifred (Whiteman) Ingram.
Before WWII, Peggy attended school and worked as a nanny. During WWII, she joined the British Red Cross and worked at a convalescent hospital for soldiers and civilians maimed from the London air raids.
Peggy came to the United States in 1946 and married Harvey Waterman in 1966. She worked at many places, the last being Bonny Eagle High School in the cafeteria.
She enjoyed, knitting, crocheting, and singing in her church choir at the Buxton United Methodist Church.
Peggy is predeceased by her beloved husband Harvey Waterman; her brother- Arthur Ingram; and sisters- Gwendolyn Robertson and Beatrix Todd.
She is survived by her stepdaughter- Belinda Nicolas and her husband Anthony; grandson- Anthony Scott Cressey; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 9 at 2 PM at Flander's Cemetery, Long Plains Road, Buxton.
