Fernando J. Pouliot, age 95, passed away on April 12, 2018 at Wingate of South Hadley. He was born on June 24, 1922 in Canada. Fernando was the son of the late Arthur and Marie (Fortier) Pouliot. He worked as a tire builder for Uniroyal for 35 years before he retired in 1980. He was a communicant of the former Assumption Parish. He was predeceased by his loving wife Fernande (Bergeron) Pouliot of Chicopee. He is survived by his three sons, Gerald Pouliot and his wife Ann of Chicopee, Michael Pouliot and his wife Deborah of Monson and Daniel Pouliot and his wife Susan of Easthampton, and a daughter, Diane Lachance and her husband Gerard of South Hadley. He also leaves behind four brothers, Leo (Paul) Pouliot, George Pouliot, Norman Pouliot and Larry Pouliot, all of Chicopee; one sister, Bernice Nelson of VA; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Raymond and Donald Pouliot and also by his sister Marcella Couture. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St Rose de Lima Cemetery.
