PORTER – John Michael Welch, age 62, of Porter, passed away at his home on April 17, 2018.
He was born March 5, 1956. His parents were John A. and Alberta (Tarr) Welch.
After graduating from Sacopee Valley High School, John proudly served his country in the Tank Division in the US Army. He worked as a sawyer and maintenance worker for I.P. in Chocorua, NH and as a welder who could weld things that others could not. He loved his family and dogs, tinkering, perfecting and modifying equipment and tools. He was an active member of Fair Renewal Fellowship Church in NH.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia (Sargent)Welch whose passing he mourned until he died and a brother, Robert J. Welch. John is survived by his daughters, Kelly Ann Welch of Alfred and Misti Lee Welch of Mechanic Falls, and siblings – Mary Fisher of Wakefield, NH, Jacqueline Verrill of Porter, Sydney Sprague of North Berwick, Shannon Johnson of Limerick and Robert Valley of Ossipee, NH.
Services for immediate family and close friends will be held at Jackie and Tom Verrill’s on May 5.
