Mr. Richard A. Ducharme, formerly of East Taunton, entered into rest Tuesday, April 17 in the Oak Hill Healthcare Center, Middleborough following a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Arlene M. (Paige) Ducharme. He was born 82 years ago in Central Falls, R.I., the son of the late Henry G.C. and Aline G. (Smith) Ducharme. Richard was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Msgr. James Coyle High School, and had been an East Taunton resident for many years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at the former Geilich Tannery in Taunton for several years. He enjoyed his many dogs and trained seeing-eye dogs.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 3 sisters: Aline Cyr and her husband, Roy of Taunton, Joan Bush and her husband, Gary of Fla., and Joyce Finochio and her husband Thomas of Fla.; 1 brother: Donald D. Ducharme of Fla.; a brother-in-law: Larry Paige and his wife, Denise of Messina, N.Y.; dear friends: Marianne McRae and Tony Almeida of East Taunton; and his friend “Dexter.” Richard was also the brother of the late Robert R. Ducharme of Taunton.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at Oak Hill Healthcare Center, 76 North Street, Middleboro, on Wednesday, April 25 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton is assisting Richard’s family with the arrangements.
