Obituary

Floyd Vernon Heno, 90, a lifelong resident of Franklin, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to E. Maribelle (Sanborn) Heno.

Born in Franklin on April 30, 1927, he was the son of the late Edwina (Heno) Bennett.

Mr. Heno proudly served in the Army during WWII.

Before his retirement, he worked as a mechanic for the Town of Wellesley. He had also previously worked as a mechanic for the former Miller Truck Sales and Sherman Chevrolet in Franklin and the former Taft Pierce Manufacturing in Woonsocket.

Mr. Heno was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge in Franklin. A tinkerer and inventor, he loved working on antique cars and enjoyed farming and gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan Griffin and her husband Roger of Franklin, Vernon Heno and his wife Laurie of Franklin, Esther Capoccia and her husband Tony of Bellingham, Heidi Mahr and her husband Jeff of Franklin and Steven Heno of Franklin.

He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Crystal and her husband Eric, Andrew and his wife Crystal, Justin and his wife Jessica, Brian, Timothy, Emily, Alexis, Nicholas and his wife Kelsey, Kelsie and Katie and four great-grandchildren, Keira, Kylie, Scarlett and Esme.

He was predeceased by his brother Leslie Bennett and is survived by his sister-in-law Judy Guevremont of Connecticut, his nephew Les Bennett and his wife Monique of Connecticut and his great-nephew Cody Bennett.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, April 20 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m.

Burial will follow at Wilcox Cemetery in Bellingham.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mr. Heno’s memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
