David Hal Smith, 68, of Nashville passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Regency Hospital in Macon. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Smith at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. He will be laid to rest at a later date next to his mother at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
Born July 30, 1949 in Franklin, Virginia, Mr. Smith was the son of the late D. Smith and Sarah Anne Hoggard Smith. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. He was a carpenter and loved playing and listening to Blues music.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Victoria H. Wellton Smith of Nashville; one step-son and his wife, Bobby and Lynn Hankins of Nashville; one step-daughter, Katherine Hankins of Nashville; and one brother and sister-in-law, James “Red” and Birdie Sewell of Tifton.
