John Francis Pistacchio, 55, of Cherry Street died Friday, April 13th, 2018 in Roger Williams Medical Center.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Rudolph Nicholas Pistacchio and Wilhelmina Helen (McVey) Pistacchio. He was a graduate of the New England Institute of Technology where he earned his Associates Degree in Plumbing Technology.
John was employed at Women and Infants Hospital since 2004, most recently in the Environmental Management Department and was a member of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 1199.
John had a number of eclectic interests including building and flying model airplanes, refinishing furniture, cooking, camping and music. He also had an enormous sense of humor and quick wit which he would present at any given moment. He was a truly kind and genuine person and loyal to his friends and family.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Michael Pistacchio of Smithfield, David Pistacchio and his partner Dr. Daniel Geller of New York and Marylou Chiasson and her Fiancé, Jim Kott of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, as well as his Niece, Kara Chiasson and his Nephew and Godson, Mark Chiasson.
Funeral Saturday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation Friday from 4-7pm.
