Obituary

William “Tony” Watson, 69, of Tifton passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mr. Watson will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be gathering at the Watson Home, 97 Julia Road in Tifton.

Born February 5, 1949 in Turner County, Mr. Watson was the son of the late Marvin Watson and Lola Grimes Watson. He was also preceded in death by one step-daughter, Peggy Luke Webb; and one brother, Larry Watson. He retired from Premier Transportation and also worked as a roofer for 18 years with States Roofing. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the Waffle House with family and friends. He always loved to stay busy and was of the Baptist faith. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen Parker Watson of Tifton; one step-son and his wife, Roy and Tammy Luke of Omega; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura Ann and Ross Kellogg of Nashua, Iowa; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Donna Watson of Atlanta; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Wyman Temples of Tifton and Dianne Watson of Sylvester; his grandchildren and their spouses, Jacob, Jossie and Justice Watson of Nashua, Iowa, Danielle and Rob Buckley and Blake Webb, all of Tifton and Vince and Sara Gilliard of Brookfield; one great-grandson, Buck Buckley; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Casper.
